Distribution Center Associate

Scandinavian Designs is premier furniture and home décor retailer and we are looking for a Distribution Center Associate in our Petaluma location. Our associates are passionate about delivering quality products and are committed to providing exceptional customer service.

Our Distribution Center Associate (DCA) is responsible for the physical movement, by hand or with equipment, of our furniture and accessories that are delivered to our stores and to our customers.  The DCA receives large amounts of merchandise on container trucks for storage, breakdown and distribution.  As part of a team, our DCAs unload trucks, verify shipping and receiving paperwork, and efficiently store goods in correct locations.  Our DCAs have the important role of quality assurance as we prepare and stage our merchandise for delivery.  Our DCSs understand the urgency of accurate redistribution of goods from storage onto trucks for delivery and respect that our customers expect high quality products in excellent condition.  Our procedures require care, a positive attitude, safety awareness and good organizational skills.   All our positions are expected to uphold our commitment to value, quality and design.

 

Requirements:

This is a very physical job, with heavy lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.  Successful Distribution Center Associates have a High School diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years successful work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.  Good communication skills and are able to read invoices, use computer terminals to look up information.  They must be able to use a hand truck, understands assemblies and correctly operate small power tools. Able to obtain and maintain Fork Lift training and certification.  Able to complete and clear our pre-employment physical and drug screening.
