Assistant Warehouse Manager - Furniture and Home Decor

Scandinavian Designs, a premier furniture and home décor retailer, is looking for a full-time Assistant Warehouse Manager in our fast paced San Mateo/San Carlos, CA location. Our associates are passionate about delivering quality products and are committed to providing exceptional customer service.

This position provides supervisory and administrative support in the day-to-day management of the warehouse staff and operations.  This position is responsible for product movement, inventory and service tasks as well as ensuring proper documentation and administration.  This position is responsible for maintaining an organized, well-kept warehouse and must be able to lift and move heavy objects safely and efficiently. Enhancing our inventory processes and accuracy by correctly filling customer, in-store orders/requests for merchandise and expediting product movement is a critical part of this position. This position helps complete the customer experience by providing friendly and efficient service during merchandise pickups.  All our positions uphold our principles of Value, Quality and Design.

Requirements:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent plus 2-3 years experience.  Experience supervising or leading others in work assignments preferred. Excellent customer service and team communication skills.  Demonstrate attention to detail and reliability. Able to read and understand work orders, shipping and receiving paperwork and perform administrative tasks.  Basic computer skills to be able to track and report on inventory movement.  Able to obtain and maintain fork lift training and certification.  Able to successfully complete our pre-employment physical and screening necessary to obtain this role. Frequently and safely lifting a minimum of 50lbs. Pushing, pulling, walking, standing in warehouse and showroom.  Temperature vary in warehouse.  The work schedule can include evenings, weekends, holidays and some overtime.
