Accounts Payable/Buying Assistant

Join our Buying team at Scandinavian Designs in Petaluma as an Accounts Payable/Buying Assistant.  This newly expanded position is responsible for setting up invoices for payment and reviewing the accuracy of invoices ensuring the company is receiving all volume and payment related discounts to which the company is entitled.  This includes checking that cost prices and freight rates are accurate per manufacturer invoice as well as taking accounts payable related phone calls associated with these invoices.  This position works at part of the Buying team and reports to the Head Buyer.   All our positions are expected to uphold our commitment to value, quality and design.

Requirements:

We are looking for an energetic and detailed oriented individual to bring both their skill and ability to innovate and simplify to this role.  Minimum of an Associates degree in accounting or equivalent, Bachelors preferred. 1-3 years accounts payable, purchasing or similar office experience. Data Entry experience with 10-Key by touch.  Basic math/accounting skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Meticulous attention to detail.  Positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Able to work as part of a team and independently.
